Reykjavík – Smiðjunes – Múlaskáli
We fly early morning to Höfn í Hornafirði and there we get a ride to Smiðjunes.
From there we head north towards Illikambur. As we go there we go onto a few ridges and experience the powerful landscape of Jökulsárgljúfur and Hnappadalstindur and Jökulgilstindar can be seen.

Múlaskáli – Egilsssel
We start the day by heading down to Leiðartungur where the colours are amazing. From there we go over to Tröllakrókar, one of the more impressive places in Iceland. We go along Kollmúlafjall towards Egilssel. This is probably the best day routes in Iceland.
Hiking distance: 10-12km. Hiking time: 6-8 hours
Egilssel – Geldingafell
We follow Vesturdalsá river till we reach the basis of Jökulsár í Lóni where we find an impressive and powerful waterfall. We look to Vesturdalur where we see moraines from the glacier. The power from the Vatnajökull and Snæfell sets its mark on the last part of the day as we walk past Geldingafell to our hut.

Hiking time: 5-7 hours.
Geldingafell – Eyjabakkar – Laugarfell
We start the day early by wading the river Blanda before we hike through Eyjabakki towards Laugarfell. A great day in wonderful nature. No area this high above sea level has this diverse vegetation and therefor it‘s a popular area for geese and reindeers. We enjoy a good rest at Laugarfell where we can dip into a hot pool and enjoy the views of Icelands highest mountain outside glaciers, Snæfell.

Hiking time: 5-7 hours.
Laugarfell – Fljótsdalur
Our last day hiking where we see beautiful waterfalls in Jökulsá í Fljótsdal and Kleifarskóg before we rest our tired bodies at Óbyggðasetrið in Fljótsdal. There we are going to treat ourselves to a traditional leg of lamb, hot tubs and sauna.
